Literacy & Fluency_Individual Awareness

Overview/description

.......what is this core competency referring to? Describe how it links in with the Digiteen Area of Awareness
This area of awareness links to this article because they both have to do with learning what to say and how you say it online and off. Jobs are usually full of paperwork and interview on why you want to work there. The more education on a topic the easier it is to get a decent paying job but, the thing is your parents aren't going to be with you the rest of your life. You need to learn how to be responsible on things and that includes the internet. The moment you put something online, it STAYS online. When you get older and need a job, their going to look at everything you do put online and what you say.

Examples

These two awareness' connect by knowing how to act on certain things like texting. Would you text someone something you said about them but NOT be able to tell them to there faces? Be aware on what you say and how you say or mean it. When you want a job, and you put something online about yourself, their going to go look at what you put, when you put it, and the pictures that are on there. It's you job to be the responsible for what you put on your Facebook, Myspace and Twitter and more. Some things that you can be cautious about are: pictures, articles, offensive things, and comments. Be aware what and when you say it because if you put something online that you regret, it's just going to be a harder life.[1]
